Rosemary P. (nee Coyle) Sala

Sala, Rosemary P. (nee Coyle) age 97, died Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, 2022 at Hackensack University Medical Center, Hackensack, NJ. She was born the youngest of eleven children in North Bergen, NJ, August 29, 1924. Rosemary worked for the Thomas J. Lipton Tea Packaging Company in Hoboken, NJ where she met and married her husband Baldwin. They were married in 1948 and moved to Waldwick, NJ in 1949 where she lived for 73 years until her death. Rosemary was a loyal parishioner of St, Luke’s RC Church, Hoho-kus, a member of the Rosary Society & the Senior Lucan’s Club. Rosemary loved living in Waldwick, where she & Baldwin raised two sons, Peter and Paul. Rosemary could be seen everyday walking a mile uptown then back home again to do her food shopping and banking for more than 70 years, always refusing a ride from her many friends & neighbors no matter the weather. She loved to walk. Rosemary was predeceased by her loving husband Baldwin of 38 years, who died March 1986, & her oldest son Peter, who died September 2018, as well as her 5 sisters, 5 brothers, 5 nephews & 2 nieces, and almost all of her friends. She is survived by her youngest son Paul Sala (Andrea), and her 4 grandchildren: Kyle Sala (Jennifer), Christopher Sala, Cory Sala, & Katelyn Sala. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, June 10, 2022 at 10am at St. Luke’s RC Church, 340 North Franklin Tpk, Ho-ho-kus, NJ. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery, 770 Darlington Ave., Mahwah, NJ. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to St, Luke’s RC Church, 340 Franklin Tpk, Ho-ho-kus, NJ 07423, or the Waldwick PBA #217, 15 East Prospect Street, Waldwick, NJ 07463.
