Judith Adele Neville (nee Hempstead)

BRIGANTINE - Judith Adele Neville, (nee Hempstead), 74, of Brigantine passed away on Monday April 11, 2022. Judy was born in Queens and first lived in Kew Gardens, NY. When Judy was 7, the Hempsteads moved to Elmwood Park, NJ where Judy attended their local schools and was graduated from Elmwood Park High School, where she was a majorette in the school band. She attended Fairleigh Dickinson University, in Teaneck, NJ and then moved to North Bergan, NJ. Judy lived there for over 35 years while serving as the Executive Assistant to the President of several businesses that described her as the “engineer” that made the train run on time.

Judy always loved the seashore and moved to Brigantine in 2012, after she retired. Judy’s condo on Brigantine was her dream come true. She savored watching the ocean from her balcony and driving to the Cove in her Jeep. The Cove became Judy’s favorite place to swim her impeccable backstroke and to party with all of those who enjoyed the Cove as much as she did. Those who frequented the Cove will miss seeing Judy swimming there this summer.

Judy is preceded in death by her late husband, Francis Neville of North Bergen, NJ, her parents Walter C. and Dorothy E. Hempstead of Elmwood Park, NJ, and her cousin Bruce D. Jones of Melrose, MA. She is survived by her cousins Kenneth H. Jones and Cynthia E. Jones, of Homosassa, FL, and Keith C. Jones (Gloria) of Henderson, NV. She will also be missed by her long-time friend JoAnne Patrick of Bedminster, NJ, and her loyal Brigantine friends Jeanne DiCecco and Sally Ward.

Judy loved all animals but especially her cats. Samson, Delilah and Morris will miss their mother very much! In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Judy Neville’s memory to the Marine Mammal Stranding Center, 3625 Atlantic Brigantine Blvd, Brigantine, NJ, 08203

A Celebration of Judy’s Life will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 1-5pm at the Brigantine Elks Lodge #2428, 400 West Shore Drive, Brigantine, NJ 08203, where an Elks Memorial Service will be conducted. To share your fondest memory of Judy please visit www.keatesplum.com
